Something unusual is happening inside the Dalí Museum’s Huff Wing—visitors are tilting their heads back, spinning slowly, and gazing upward in awe.

The new exhibition Outside In: New Murals Inspired by Dalí invites audiences to see the museum like never before. The walls—up to 18 feet high—are covered in site-specific murals by artists from the SHINE Mural Festival, marking the street art celebration’s 10th anniversary.

The result? A vibrant fusion of surrealism and street art that feels both local and limitless.

Curated by Allison McCarthy, the exhibition reimagines the Dalí collection through the lens of public art. Each artist was asked to respond to Dalí himself, the museum’s collection, and the architecture of the space. Many murals include an interactive audio guide, where you can hear directly from the artists by downloading the Dalí Museum app or visiting their website.

Other highlights include Your Portrait, an AI-powered experience that transforms your selfie into a stylized mural portrait—complete with a digital lesson in street art aesthetics while it renders.

But don’t wait too long: these murals are temporary and will eventually be painted over. Until then, visitors are encouraged to experience the scale, color, and creative energy that’s turning the museum inside out.
